Mitigating the Risk of Corrosion in Steelwork
I-beams and RSJ's can be difficult to insulate; a common problem easily solved with Icynene where the steelwork is exposed. But what about the box sections where there is a risk of corrosion from condensation occurring on the inside? Such as this retail development where the injection of LDC-50 to the box section verticals and braces ensures that the risk is minimised. Injection via 30mm pilot holes and each section checked with IR camera to ensure we insulate the parts other insulation systems cannot reach!
